Earn credit for your current or completed apprenticeship and finish your degree now!
Admission to the Apprenticeship Studies program requires students to meet the minimum requirements for enrollment. Students must complete 12 credit hours at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and have completed the national or state apprenticeship program before being awarded up to 40 additional* credit hours toward the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Apprenticeship Studies.
*Apprenticeship credit requirement can be met by a combination of apprenticeship credit (APS 201: 10-40 credit hours) and other technical courses as approved by the program coordinator.
Documentation of completion of a national or state approved program must be submitted when applying for the degree.

What classes do I have to take?
The degree requires five general education classes and a few technical electives along with APS 201 Apprenticeship Credit. The number of technical courses is dependent upon the length of the Apprenticeship, ex. 1-4 years. The total number of credit hours is 60 to 64 for the program.

Field Licensure Requirements
Students are required to have earned a registered apprenticeship certification from US Department of Labor in their respective field of work.
Where do I start?
Apply for admission to ECTC to receive information from the Admissions Office about submitting your placement test scores (ACT or other exams) and to schedule a meeting with an advisor to register for your classes.
Length of Program
You can earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
