Education

You decide the career - Educator or Paraeducator.

We can prepare you for a job as a Kentucky paraeducator, also known as a teacher’s aide, or for a bachelor’s degree program to become a Cerified Kentucky teacher.

Can I specialize my degree, diploma or certificate options?

You can get an Associate in Applied Science in Education, or you can take the Teacher Associate Option. You can also obtain a certificate as a Paraeducator.

What are the admission requirements?

This program has no special admission requirements. Please consult ECTC's college admission requirements for information for how to enroll in this program.

Where do I start?

A good place to start is with the Online Advising Manual. This link gives you the information you need to learn more about the various prerequisites for the Education Program.  Also, check out the General Information for Education Majors.

How do I become a teacher?

Under Kentucky’s 2+2 Teacher Prep Partnership, you can become a full-time teacher at your own pace. ECTC has partnerships with public and private universities and state agencies to guarantee that your credits transfer.
