A Message from Dr. Thelma White

Welcome to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

Our students´ success in post secondary education is our top priority. Whether they are planning to transfer to a four-year institution or working to earn an associate degree, diploma or certificate, or taking classes for career development or personal enrichment, we want to be sure we meet their needs and expectations. Our faculty and staff have the unique strengths, experiences, and expertise to support students in pursuit of their goals. But most importantly, they are here because they have the desire to help students succeed. We succeed only if students do.

We understand that achieving goals can be challenging, especially considering the obligations and obstacles that are part of every life. Many of our students work full-time or part-time, raise families, or have other family commitments or social obligations. Skyrocketing gas prices have become a major consideration for many students as they plan their schedules, and we understand the impact it has as they prioritize their financial needs. We will work with each student as much as possible to schedule classes, offer more on-line and bi-term classes, and consider other creative means of holding the line on overall costs.

We are very proud of our students and all we have accomplished together over more than four decades. Our students come from every socio-economic group, cross all ages, and represent a wide range of racial, ethnic and geographic diversity. But, ultimately, we all have one thing in common. That one thing is a desire to improve ourselves and the quality of our lives, either by enhancing our current career opportunities, learning new job skills, exploring new areas of personal or cultural interest, or appreciating the value of lifelong learning in whatever form it takes.
