Advising, Counseling and Transfer Center

This is a one-stop office to help students with questions about program plans offered at ECTC as well as degree pathways for transfer to four-year institutions. Students who are having personal or educational issues can also find help here.

New students as well as students who have not been enrolled for a semester or more can meet with specially trained faculty or professional advisors in our Advising Center. They will talk with students about career plans and make suggestions for degrees offered at ECTC. Advisors help students enroll in appropriate classes for each degree plan.

Students are then assigned a program advisor, a faculty member who is an expert in a particular program area. In future semesters, students meet with that faculty advisor to discuss their educational plans and be advised about specific courses to take.

Sometimes, students have personal or educational issues they need to discuss with a caring individual. This office can also provide information on community resources and help students plan strategies for success.

Transfer is important at ECTC. Advisors in this office can help students research transfer institutions to find the majors that fit their educational goals. And they can point students to seamless transfer pathways so they take the classes they need at ECTC that best fit their transfer institution.
