If your motivation is cooking for other people, a career in Culinary Arts might be just what you are looking for. The Culinary Arts program offers a curriculum that leads to positions in agencies and institutions that provide social and community activities.
A Culinary Arts degree can lead to employment in the areas of Hotel and Restaurant management, cruise ships food service, personal chef opportunities and food and beverage operations. You will find that your career choices are numerous in the culinary field.
A core of Culinary Arts courses and general education courses are required. Depending on the option you choose, you may be required to take some business classes.
Sure! You can choose specific technical courses that best match your interests, such as Food and Beverage, Catering and Culinary Arts.
You can get an Associate in Applied Science in Culinary Arts, Catering and Personal Chef, and Food and Beverage degrees. Or you could choose a diploma in Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Management or Catering and Personal Chef. You could also earn certificate in Fundamentals of Culinary Arts. There are no special admission requirements for this program. Please consult ECTC's college admission requirements for information for how to enroll in this program.
You may be required to do a have practicum or co-op experience using skills and principles learned from your training before graduation.
