How To Apply:
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Federal School Code is 001991. We will receive your financial aid information ONLY if you list our school code on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  1. Complete an Application for Admission to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.
  2. Apply for a PIN Number from the Department of Education at http://www.pin.ed.gov. (A Podcast is available to instruct you on the PIN Application process, select the following link to access the Applying for a Financial Aid PIN Podcast.) You will receive your PIN Number by regular mail or by email. We recommend email because the process is much faster.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, (FAFSA) after you have received your PIN Number. You will need the following documents to apply for financial aid:
    • Your driver's license and social security card
    • W-2 Forms and other records on money earned in 2007
    • 2006 U.S. income tax return (IRS Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ)
    • Records of untaxed income, such as welfare, social security, TANF or ADC, or veterans benefits
    • Current bank statement and mortgage information
    • Business and farm records, records of stocks, bonds, and other investments
    • Copies of documentation showing your child support amounts received or paid-out during 2006
    • A copy of your High School transcript or GED may be required by the college's Admissions Office or the Financial Aid Office before financial aid can be awarded

What Happens After Completing the Financial Aid Application(s):
  1. After submitting the FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Review the SAR for accuracy and verify that ECTC is listed as one of your school choices. Whether you file your FAFSA by mail or electronically, our office will receive the results.
  2. The Financial Aid Office will request any additional information necessary to complete your aid file. It is imperative you submit any requested documentation as soon as possible.
  3. Once your file is complete, our office will review your eligibility for all federal/state student aid programs. Federal award letters will be sent once your aid eligibility has been determined.
