Federal College Work-study (FCWS):
The Federal College Work-Study Program provides jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. Federal College Work-Study is a need based program and is based on your unmet need. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study whenever possible.
Who is Eligible?

Has filed for financial aid through Free Application for Federal Student Aid, (FAFSA) and has successfully completed the process (including the verification process)
-
Currently meets Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
-
Will have enough unmet need available to use toward work-study during work-study semester
-

Are the FCWS jobs on/off Campus?
-
Both, although most FCWS jobs are on campus, there is a possibility that some FCWS jobs will be located in a private nonprofit organization or public agency, and the work performed would be off campus and in the public interest.
How much can I earn?
-
The current on-campus Work-study positions are $6.50 per hour and off-campus work-study positions are $7.50 per hour. Your total Federal College Work-Study award depends on when you apply, your level of need, and the FCWS Program funding level for the Academic Year.
How am I paid?
-
The amount you earn can not exceed your total Federal College Work-Study award as calculated in your Financial Aid Package. We will consider your class schedule and other personal obligations when assigning work hours. FCWS wages are paid two weeks in arrears on the 15th and the 30th of each month. You may participate in FWS as long as you maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and meet all other FWS eligibility requirements.
How can I become part of the work-study program?
-
Your first step is to visit our financial aid office to verify your eligibility. If you are eligible, then you will be able to view the open positions available for work-study. Once you have chosen a job you are interested in, you will visit that particular supervisor for an interview. If both you and the supervisor are in agreement, the next step will be to complete paperwork with the financial aid and human resource departments. All employees are required to complete a background check through the college that takes an average of two weeks to complete. Once your background check clears, and you have received the approval of human resources, you will be able to begin working.
