The air conditioning technology program is designed to teach knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles, theory, and practices relating to the control of temperature and quality of air in heating and cooling systems.
Students selecting this program will participate in classroom and laboratory training experiences which focus on the repair, installation, and upkeep of residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, filtration, humidity control, and problem solving methods to use in repairing systems.
Opportunities for employment in this field are expected to increase because of anticipated new residential and commercial construction. Also, there will be a growing need for existing heating and cooling systems to be repaired, modified, and maintained to accommodate comfort levels.
