Electrical technology is designed to meet the training needs of students who plan to work in electrical construction, industrial maintenance, or related fields.
Students are provided educational experiences which enable them to acquire an understanding of electrical theory, residential wiring, commercial and industrial wiring, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, and industrial electronics. Laboratory activities will provide the opportunity for students to work with installation projects, switching and control equipment typically used in problem solving procedures and the maintenance of electrical equipment.
Employment opportunities are primarily with manufacturing plants, private companies, and self-employment.
