***The Heartland Review is actively seeking art work for its Summer 2008 issue***

We seek original short fiction, poetry, and black & white artwork and/or photography (no larger than 8 ½ x 14). The “best” artwork that depicts a natural setting will be awarded the cover.

We hold a Fiction contest every fall for the Winter issue and a Poetry contest for the Summer issue. Regular fiction submissions are still considered for the Summer issue; regular poetry submissions are also considered for the Winter issue. Artwork is considered year round.

Writers/poets/artists should submit 3-5 poems (200 word limit); 3-5 pieces of art work/photos; 1-2 stories (3,000 word limit). Manuscripts must be typed and (except for poetry) double-spaced. Each submission should include biographical information on a cover page (name, address, phone #, E-mail optional). Name, etc. should not appear on the works themselves. If possible, please send work on a 3.5” disk/CD-ROM in Word format along with hard copy. The Heartland Review is not responsible for damaged disks. The Heartland Review does not return submissions. Entries are juried blindly. Deadlines: November 20 for the Winter issue; deadline for the Summer issue has not yet been determined for 2008. Send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope for results with submissions to:
