Point of view - is the author trying to present a particular side of an issue?

Editorials reflect point of view of author and often that of the newspaper itself. News articles are supposed to present factual information without bias and generally adhere to this policy. There are times, however, when the reader would be wise to determine what the newspaper's stance on an issue is or whether it supports or opposes public officials or proposed legislation. Some newspapers are better than others in adhering to the policy of objective reporting.  The Courier-Journal and the New York Times are two newspapers that generally provide factual and objective information in news reports.
